Hansen Pumpkin Carving

Wow...Hello talk about slacker!  I can't believe I haven't been blogging!  Ah!  I guess there really hasn't been anything too interesting in our lives lately.  Also I have been horrible with not taking pictures of things we do...really I am going to regret not taking more pictures of our life.  haha

Today us Hansen's carved some sweet pumpkins!  Ok, story time...I have never carved pumpkins like this before.  Which came as a big shocker to my new family.  It's not my fault ok?!  I mean I have always done the typical pumpkin using triangles squares and circles. haha  Well today I got a taste of the Hansen awesome pumpkin carving skills.  I think I did fairly well...

Ryan decided that he needed his Harry Potter glasses for carving Harry Potter...
Me...I am a Pirates kind of girl...Not Harry Potter... haha Ryan has a love for knives, should I be concerned?
These are our pumpkins before...

Jason has this obsession with Apple...so he had to carve an Apple.  Kind of threw all of our amazing pumpkins off.  haha jk

Ok I had no idea how to tape the picture to my pumpkin...Luckily my hubby was a pro so he helped me. haha
Malissa kept saying how she had the best pumpkin...I guess it was ok. haha No hers turned out so cute!
 Jason and his Apple...

Jason and Malissa started before us.  I promise we weren't that slow. haha

 Look at us go!

Oh yeah!  Final product!  I think it looks amazing!  Oh and the reason Jason's pumpkin is so bright you ask?  Because it had to have a flashlight!  Apple is high tech, it couldn't just be a candle.  psh... haha
 Our finished pumpkins

Brielle's Pumpkin...Pirates of the Caribbean (sorry Ryan took a blury picture..)

So there you have it!  It was a fun night!  I must admit this way of pumpkin carving is a lot of fun.  Plus I am a Hansen now and apparently there is a pumpkin carving reputation I have to live up to now.  haha

Forget Me Not

President Uchtdorf Reminds Sisters of Five things to "Forget Not"
"No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you.  In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love."
  • Forget not to be patient with yourself.
  • Forget not the difference between good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice.
  • Forget not to be happy now.
  • Forget not the "why" of the gospel.
  • Forget not that the Lord loves you.

I seriously loved this talk so much!  I think we all get so caught up in life that we forget to remember why we are truly here.  Working for Deseret Book has really started to open my eyes to what we need to focus on.  I will admit I haven't enjoyed working there as much as I thought I would.  But today we had an amazing meeting and tomorrow I will start working in the Distribution side of things.  Working with the Temple clothing I think will be an amazing experience!  If you haven't watched this talk yet, please do.  It truly is amazing!

"Just think of it:  You are known and remembered  by the most majestic, powerful, and glorious being in the universe!  You are loved by the King of infinite space and everlasting time."

I think that picture just about says it all.  :)

All Moved In

After 10 hours of packing
3 hours of moving
5 hours of unpacking
and 4 hours of Fringe episodes...
We are almost done being completely moved!  Boy am I tired...haha I never ever want to move again.  Saturday was seriously CRAZY!  So glad the big moving day is over.  It's hard deciding what to put into storage and what to keep with you.  We are staying with Ryan's cute family for while!  So we went from 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and a family room...to a 1 bedroom.  haha  I wasn't sure we were going to be able to fit everything in our one room, but we did!  Woo!  Although half of the stuff in our room is my craft stuff...haha  Oh well!  After everything was finally unpacked we watched 4 hours of Fringe!  Best feeling ever is when you get to lay on your bed after hours of packing and moving and unpacking. ;)

Great thing is we don't have a wild 2 year old stomping over head and throwing tantrums {YAY!}

Here is a small portion of my craft stuff...It doesn't seem like tons but trust me...{this is only a portion of it} I have a lot of art/craft supplies. haha  I have a slight addiction to buying scrapbook paper.

I am officially no longer an employee at University Credit Union {YAY!}  I am so happy!   Seriously though, I don't think I have been this happy in I don't even know how long. haha :D  I officially start working for Deseret Book on Thursday where I will be training for about a month.  Once training is done I will be working at the main store in Layton in the Distribution center which opens the end of October.  The girls I will be working with are super sweet and I am excited to work for the church!  The atmosphere is just so much better and I am way excited.

Well that's about all the exciting news that I have!

A few new things!

I chopped my hair off
I got a new job
We are moving

Well that just about sums up my life right about now!  haha jk Man I miss blogging.  I know it has only been a week, but still!  It's my escape from the normal everyday stuff and I love it.  So I decided I needed to blog today.  Life is so amazing!  Even though I am totally stressed out right now...Things are going great!

I decided I needed a drastic new look...so I chopped my hair off on Saturday!  The hubby loves it!  I love it.  Let me tell ya, a hair cut and color and some makeup can really make any girl feel great.  I was really starting to feel frumpy with my long hair, plus short hair is just more sassy and fun I think!

So what do you think?

I got a new job at Deseret Book!  I will be working in the Distribution Center.  (They are combining the Distribution center with Deseret Book)  Something I have never done before, a whole new experience.  I got a little discouraged when he said it is a temporary job (which is not what I applied for) so I dunno if I will stay or not.  Guess we will see!  If I do stay, I think it will be great!  Helping people buy temple clothing will be exciting. I am sure I will meet a lot of great people.

I have seen a lot of miracles in the past month.  I gave my 2 weeks at University Credit Union not having another job in place.  I knew I needed to leave that place, and I knew I would find something.  I had to have a lot of faith with doing that, and I am so blessed to have gotten a job with the church none the less!  My last day at the credit union is Friday and I am SO HAPPY!  Who would have ever thought quitting a job would make you so happy? haha

Oh the joys of packing.  I hate moving!  Such a pain in the butt! haha  At least after this move we won't have to move again for another 6 months! ;)  With Ryan changing his major I am not really sure where we will be living after he gets his associates at Weber next semester.  Could be good ole Rexburg Idaho!

Well folks, that's about all the updates I have.  If I survive this week then I will post more next week!

Here are some good quotes for you guys...You know how much I love my quotes!

2 weeks...A long time coming

WOW!  Can I just tell you guys how crazy life is? haha  So many changes in such little time.  But these changes are good, and I feel AMAZING!  I haven't felt such relief and excitement about life in a very, very, very long time.  I am quitting my job.  I gave my 2 weeks notice today and I can't tell you how happy I am.  Best decision I could have made.  The only benefit Ryan and I could see I was getting from that job was a paycheck.  Which is important, don't get me wrong.  But working 6 days a week and only getting one day off a week is draining!  I was getting no benefits what-so-ever, and my manager that was willing to work with me on my sales goals quit.   So here I am miserable, depressed, dreading work everyday.  I didn't like who I was becoming working there.  I don't want to waste my days away being miserable and unhappy.  That's not what life is about, it's not about just enduring it's about living.

"When we get too caught up in the busyness of the world, we lose connection with one another and ourselves."
-John Wooden

I'm not a quitter...but I will quit something if it means I can be happy.  I know you can't let other people affect your life, but sometimes there are things in life you have to change in order for bigger things to come to pass.  I love my husband more than anything, and he is everything to me.   Thanks babe for being so supportive of my decisions.

Sorry for being so depressing lately, this is my way to kind of get my feelings out and share with my friends and family what's going on with my life.   I feel like so many people are going through the same things. So if I can share my thoughts and feelings I am hoping maybe it will touch someone else's heart or at least inspire them to make that "big" change in their life.  I share these things because I read blogs where people share their thoughts and trials and it inspires me to be better.

I love you all!  Thanks to all those people that share the love and leave me comments!  Seriously where are my followers?  Maybe I need to spice my blog up a little more??? haha

If I had a baby...

If I had a baby... haha Ok so this is a WAY random post.  I have fallen in love with some of these WAY cute nursery ideas, and I had to share.  So many of my friends are pregnant so I thought some of you may want to see them!  And I love to look at these ideas.  For my own enjoyment I am posting this.  :)  NO I am not pregnant.  Don't worry.  You'll fall in love with these rooms.  I know it. ;)

I LOVE these colors!!  So pretty!!

I love how masculine and cute this room is.

Isn't this the coolest bookshelf?

Okay so are you in love?  Because I am!! haha

I got most of these ideas from Design Dazzle in the baby nursery section and from Simply Sadie Jane.
